Heavy Equipment Rigging Team Moves Industrial Mulcher Out of Poor Weather
Interstate Towing’s heavy equipment rigging team was dispatched to a repair shop in Aurora, Ohio. The shop was in the midst of repairing an industrial mulcher with a blown out motor. Recent bouts of bad weather caused work on the mulcher to slow down as the team had been using their outdoor bay for the repairs.
They tasked the heavy equipment rigging team with moving the massive machine to the shop’s interior repair bay. With the machine indoors, the repair shop could complete the repairs much quicker! Picking up a 40,000 lb industrial machine and moving it through a garage door into a building may seem like an impossible task for some. That being said, with the proper equipment and training, anything is possible!
The rigging team placed their straps at strategic points on the mulcher. This would ensure that it remained stable while it was being lifted and moved. With the straps in place, the heavy equipment rigging team slowly lifted the 40,000 lb behemoth into the air. With care and precision, they moved the mulcher through the 14 foot tall garage door and into the interior repair bay.
Everyone watching was holding their breath as the team had very little room for maneuver through the door. The rotator operator was as relaxed as can be as he knew the job would be completed safely thanks to his expertise, the 50 ton rotator, and his team guiding him.
The rotator operator’s intuition was right; the job went as smooth as can be! With the mulcher now inside, the repair shop could complete their repairs in a more comfortable environment! Fantastic work out there team!
